Brisbane five-piece Cub Scouts have packed themselves off to Europe to play a string of shows, including the UK’s Great Escape festival. This comes after the successful release of new single, 'Pool!' and a number of shows in its honour - not to mention a spot on the Splendour in the Grass lineup!

Many of us dream of recording EPs and working with musical heavyweights, though I’d hazard a guess that only a handful of us get to live out that dream. But at just 21, Melbourne’s Hamish Anderson has done just that. His debut self titled EP was released just last week, and saw him working with Rami Jaffee (Foo Fighters, The Wallflowers). Whilst recent recording sessions have seen him work with Jeff Buckley’s drummer Matt Johnson.

Cloud Control aren't the band you'd expect to be super secretive about a new song, let alone an upcoming record, but when it comes to their anticipated sophomore LP - the follow up to the AMP Award winning Bliss Release - mum is definitely the word from both band and management. Which makes it especially difficult to conduct an interview about the album, which they'll be premiering at VIVID Festival later this year.

They've been travelling around the world like crazy of late, including an appearance at SXSW, but The Vaudeville Smash were kind enough to take some time out of their busy schedules to talk to Sose about their touring, upcoming plans and much more...

Ellis Bahl, director of Alt-J's acclaimed video for "Breezeblocks", was kind enough to take some time to chat to Larry Heath about the clip and more!

Despite several US tours, one Europe tour, an upcoming tour of Australia, numerous appearances on festivals line-ups and three full length albums in the space of two years, Joey Ryan from The Milk Carton Kids says this is really only the beginning. If this is the case, and things continue along the same strain as the past couple years for the Milk Carton Kids, don’t be surprised if in two years if the band has taken control of the entire music world. The AU review got to chat to Joey about the new album The Ash & Clay, touring the world and music writing.

The Merrywell in Melbourne offers American and Mexican cuisine, and has just been awarded the 'Burger of the Year 2012' for Melbourne by The Burger Adventure.
