Christchurch’s There’s a Tuesday have dropped the beautiful “Baby Blue”. The warm harmonies from Natalie Hutton and Minnie Robberds deliver another ripping song from the quartet, and it’s our Track of the Week.
Of the song, the band says “‘Baby Blue’ is a song that explores a relationship and the anxieties within it. We find these feelings can be so hard to navigate within oneself and with someone else in the picture, even harder. It begins soft and closes with impact, this movement aims to encapsulate the chaos and confusion within the lyrics.”
Andrew Gurruwiwi Band create Yolngu funk straight out of Yirrkala, North-East Arnhem Land, NT. Lead singer, Andrew Gurruwiwi is blind, a life-long musician and is a man of many talents. From the keytar, to percussion to vocals, he can do it all. We are stoked to be adding their debut track to our playlist. It’s produced in Arnhem land, and totally authentic.
Brother and sister duo, The Lovelines have released “Dark Thoughts About A Pretty Flower”, a perfect slice of sensual moody gritty indie-pop. This is a song that gets under your skin from the first listen. With only a few songs released, they are in the early days and are definitely one to follow.
Indie pop artist Estella Dawn has just released “Buzzcut”, a song about staying true to yourself when embarking on a new relationship. Low Hummer hails from Hull in the UK and have just released “Talk Shows.
And rounding out the additions for the week is “Underclub” from The Flying Bricks.
