We get our first look at Guy Richie’s King Arthur: Legend of the Sword

There’s been King Arthurs before and there will probably be King Arthurs to come, but how many of them will have Guy Ritchie in the director’s seat? If you were wondering how the man who made Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels would take on a tale from the 6th century, San Diego Comic Con has given you your first chance to find out.

While the trailer isn’t looking so promising for a pass on the Bechdel test, there are a lot of other things to be excited about in King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. For one, Charlie Hunnam pulling that sword from the rock and definitely the Ritchie-esque 6th century that doesn’t look to sacrifice one iota of his signature style.

Aside from Hunnam, Jude Law, Djimon Hounsou, Eric Bana, Aidan Gillen and Katie McGrath will star in the upcoming feature. Watch the trailer here:

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword will be released in Australia on 23rd March 2017
