Prime Video releases full trailer for Elle as star Lexi Minetree heads to Australia to celebrate the series’ release

Prime Video has unveiled the official trailer for Elle, the upcoming Legally Blonde prequel series that explores the formative years of the iconic Elle Woods. The eight-episode first season will premiere July 1st on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

In a vote of confidence ahead of its debut, the streamer has already renewed the series for a second season.

Set in 1995, Elle takes audiences back to Elle Woods’ high school years, long before she charmed her way into Harvard Law School. The series follows a teenage Elle as she navigates the often turbulent world of adolescence, facing shifting friendships, first love, and plenty of fashion missteps along the way. Anchored by her close-knit family, and particularly her relationship with her mother, Elle begins to develop the resilience, confidence and optimism that would eventually define the character audiences came to love in Legally Blonde.

The series was created by Laura Kittrell (High School, Insecure), who serves as co-showrunner and executive producer alongside Caroline Dries. Executive producers also include Reese Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, Amanda Brown, Marc Platt and Brad Van Arragon. Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect) directs the opening two episodes and also executive produces. Julia Brownell and Eli Wilson Pelton serve as co-executive producers, with Bryan J. Raber and Asmita Paranjape producing and Josie Craven and Jen Regan serving as supervising producers.

Leading the cast is Lexi Minetree as the young Elle Woods, joined by June Diane Raphael as her mother Eva and Tom Everett Scott as her father Wyatt. The ensemble also includes Jacob Moskovitz, Gabrielle Policano, Chandler Kinney, Zac Looker and Amy Pietz, while recurring appearances come from Brad Harder, Chloe Wepper, Danielle Chand, David Burtka, James Van Der Beek, Jessica Belkin, Kayla Maisonet, Lisa Yamada, Logan Shroyer, Matt Oberg and Sharon Taylor.

Australian fans will have the opportunity to celebrate the launch of the series in person, with Minetree travelling to Sydney this July as part of the show’s global promotional tour. Her visit will coincide with festivities marking both the premiere of Elle and the 25-year legacy of the original Legally Blonde film. Prime Video will also host a special Sydney launch event, giving fans and media a chance to step into Elle Woods’ world ahead of the series debut.

Meanwhile, in New York City, Prime Video is commemorating the launch and the 25th anniversary of Legally Blonde with “Elle World”, a free one-day immersive fan experience featuring themed activations, exclusive merchandise and special surprises inspired by the beloved franchise.
