The 5th annual Morrison’s Oyster Festival is back (Sydney)

Returning for its 5th year, the Morrison’s Oyster Festival returns to The Morrison Bar & Oyster Room to highlight the hero of the oyster for novices and aficionados alike.

The month-long celebration will feature a unique menu curated by Sean Connolly that will see oysters sourced from over 50 regions across Australia to allow those in attendance to note how differences in climate and waters can craft unique flavors. Guests can experience the likes of a Southern Fried Oyster Taco ($14), Oyster Omelette with chili tomato jam ($22) and an Oyster, Leek & Mussel Chowder with duck fat fries ($23) to name just a few.

The event will also see the return of 2016’s renowned $1 Oyster Hour everyday between 6pm – 7pm as well as a drinks menu that, naturally, will also incorporate oysters.

The Morrison will also host three masterclasses over the month. Whisky expert Simon McGoram will present a whisky and oyster masterclass, Piper-Heidsieck ambassador Samuel le Douarin will host a champagne and oyster masterclass and Frank Theodore from De Costi Seafoods will lead an oyster education masterclass where guests will learn about varieties, how to shuck and prepare oysters at home.
