The Aussie BBQ returns to Central Park in New York this Saturday, 17th June 2023. The free event, now in its third year, showcases iconic and rising stars of the Australian music scene. Ranging in genres from pop, soul, alt-rock to cutting-edge hip hop, the lineup includes 1300, Amy Shark, Budjerah, L-FRESH The LION, Peach PRC and Spiderbait.
This is a very exciting lineup indeed. Budjerah recently supported Ed Sheeran on his tour of Australia. His voice is incredible, and it’s only a matter of time before the rest of the world catches on. Amy Shark has won multiple ARIA awards, and been selling out large venues for years.
Hip-hop outfit 1300 released their debut album Foreign Language which was nominated for the Australian Music Prize. L-FRESH The LION is another rapper with a reputation for incredible live shows.
Pop-singer Peach PRC has recently dropped her debut EP, Manic Dream Pixie, and it has romped to the #1 position on the ARIA National Album Chart. She just completed a national headline tour, selling out every venue, including 3 nights in both Sydney and Melbourne.
Finally, Spiderbait are legends of the Australian music scene. They’ve won countless awards, and most importantly, their live show is totally rocking.
As well as being an incredible one-day mini-festival, Sydney’s iconic Bourke Street Bakery will be selling their very tasty treats throughout the day.
The event is organised by Sounds Australia and Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage in association with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
The Aussie BBQ kicked off in style in 2019, with 5,000 people attending and with a formidable lineup, including A.B. Original, Hermitude, The Teskey Brothers, Tkay Maidza, San Cisco and WAAX.
