Today, rising Australian singer, songwriter and actress Charlotte MacInnes steps into the spotlight with the release of her debut single “Struck,” an electrifying and emotionally charged first offering out now via Atlantic Records, accompanied by a striking visualiser. The track marks the beginning of a new chapter for MacInnes, and the first release under her newly inked deal with the label, with more music on the horizon.
Written alongside an impressive creative team – including boundary-pushing artist Ashnikko, hit songwriter Joe Janiak, and Grammy-winning writer Amanda Ghost – “Struck” unfolds like a storm gathering strength. What begins as something fragile and atmospheric soon swells into a dramatic, pulse-pounding anthem. MacInnes’ vocals hover over sparse production before thunderous drums kick in, driving the track forward as its soaring chorus lands with defiant force: “I scream out, devil now will be a savior, I’ll never be alone again struck by my beating heart.”
The result is a song that feels both cinematic and cathartic – an anthem about finding courage while you’re still in the middle of the chaos. “‘Struck’ is a song about bravery and defiance, written from inside the storm, not after it,” MacInnes explains. “It’s a battle cry for anyone standing in the mouth of something irreversible.”
MacInnes may be introducing herself as a recording artist, but audiences around the world already know her from the screen. The Australian-born performer broke out with a role in North Shore, the series that climbed to the top spot on Netflix in both the US and the UK. She has also made her mark on stage, notably playing Daisy Buchanan in Florence Welch’s ambitious musical adaptation of The Great Gatsby, produced by the American Repertory Theatre. She’ll also be making her feature film debut later this year in The Deb, Rebel Wilson’s outback-set musical about two outcasts who band together to find self-acceptance – and a date to their small town’s Debutante Ball.
Behind the scenes, however, MacInnes has been quietly building another side of her artistry. A lifelong singer and songwriter, she’s spent years developing her sound and waiting for the right moment to step forward. In 2026 – now backed by Atlantic Records – that moment has arrived.
With “Struck,” Charlotte MacInnes isn’t just introducing a debut single. She’s announcing herself.
