The temperature might have plummeted on day 2 of The Great Escape, but the music was hot hot hot!
Kicking off the day was the Sounds Australia showcase at Komedia, with total tommy up early at 12:25. It was a packed house, and it was a stellar set. It’s little wonder why there is such a buzz about her.
I was keen to see Day We Ran, who were on upstairs, but it was a full house, so had to head elsewhere. At least there is no shortage of venues and bands to see.
Amongst the many highlights for the day was the Isle of Wight’s Coach Party. They have a new album coming shortly, which we were given a taste of.
TGE Beach had a stream of great bands to see. We added the latest single from Scottish folk-rockers Brògeal, “Friday On My mind”, to our Discovery Playlist earlier in the month, so it was a thrill to see them live. Full of charisma and super talented musicians, it was a great set.
Chloe Slater had a packed tent for her set. Songs that resonate, a tremendous stage presence, and efferfescent personality, it was a worthy late slot on the big stage.
