ARIA Award nominees and Fine Arts winners announced in Sydney today!

Winners and more nominees for the 2014 ARIA Awards were announced at the official event in Sydney this morning, with some of Australia's best performers and their teams recognised for their work over the past year. The winners of the Fine Arts and Artisan Awards were announced at the event, with the slew of nominees for the November ARIAs unveiled. the AU congratulates all involved - there have been some truly stellar records produced over the past year, as well as the development of some great live bands who are getting just recognition!

The Australian music industry rallies behind Support Act and the launch of the 'BANDWAGON' fundraising drive!

Launched officially at Allans Billy Hyde's Melbourne store was the 'BANDWAGON' fundraising drive by Support Act. The crowd funding appeal run via Pozible aims to raise $100,000 for Australian music industry charity. Support Act, which provides financial relief to music professionals facing illness, injury or other life crises, has helped members in all different fields from singers, songwriters, roadies, techies and more. Helping launch 'BANDWAGON' in Melbourne today were Ian 'Molly' Meldrum, Hannah Findlay (Stonefield), Ian Haug (The Church, Powderfinger), Steve Kilbey (The Church), Eric McCusker (Mondo Rock), Keith Potger and Bruce Woodley (The Seekers).

Tina Arena returns to Australia on massive 'Reset' tour.

Following the great response to her latest album Reset - her first English release in 12 years - Australian pop icon Tina Arena will embark on a massive national tour.

"Change" was the theme of the 22nd Tropfest, held on a new date in a new location. Performances from Busby Marou, Illy, Lenka and Tina Arena entertained the tens of thousands of Sydneysiders who ventured out to Centennial Park to watch the 16 finalist films in what is the biggest short film festival in the world. The film Bamboozled went on to win the top prize. Check out photos from the day and the red carpet here:
