Watch the first trailer of Oliver Stone’s Snowden biopic

Oliver Stone‘s film, which tells the story of a former CIA employee who leaked classified information from the National Security Agency (NSA) in 2013 officially has its first trailer!

Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt who plays the character of Edward, Snowden portrays something a little thrilling to your usual drama. With Gordon-Levitt setting the path to the movie with quite an accent, you’re bound to get hooked by the storyline. The film paints a picture of the former CIA employee who follows the whistleblower’s path from a Special Forces candidate in the U.S Army Reserves to his time at the CIA and NSA before the event of his escape to Russia. Snowden focuses on his personal life as well as his relationships which surround his girlfriend, Lindsay Mills (Shailene Woodley) and family.

Alongside Gordon-Levitt and Woodley, Zachary Quinto will be part undertaking the role as journalist Glenn Greenwald with Melissa Leo playing documentarian Laura Poitras. Nicholas Cage will also be in the film, however, his role is unknown.
