The 2026 Toronto International Film Festival has expanded its Special Presentations line-up, unveiling another five films set to screen as part of this year’s festival.
The latest additions continue TIFF’s tradition of showcasing some of the year’s most anticipated premieres, with new works from acclaimed filmmakers Rachel Morrison, Bassam Tariq, Benjamín Naishtat, Ben Shirinian, and filmmaking duo David and Nathan Zellner joining the programme ahead of the festival’s September opening.
Among the newly announced titles is Love of Your Life, the latest feature from acclaimed cinematographer-turned-director Rachel Morrison, which will receive its World Premiere. Morrison, whose previous directing work includes The Fire Inside, returns with one of the festival’s most anticipated sophomore features.
Also making its World Premiere is Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother, the latest film from Mogul Mowgli director Bassam Tariq, alongside Ben Shirinian’s The Housewife. Argentine filmmaker Benjamín Naishtat will debut Glaxo in its World Premiere, while David and Nathan Zellner’s Alpha Gang heads to Toronto for its International Premiere following its earlier festival debut.
TIFF Chief Programming Officer Anita Lee said the latest selections reflect the festival’s ongoing commitment to presenting films that resonate with audiences while showcasing bold filmmaking voices.
“Each year, we strive to curate a selection of films that feels most relevant to the moment with the power to spark a rich dialogue with our public audience, and these Special Presentations titles are true reflections of that,” Lee said.
“From debut directors to the most anticipated sophomore films of the year to vanguard voices, this group of films showcase the authenticity, the unexpected, and the ambition of cinema now. They are sure to be among the Festival’s most talked-about titles, captivating audiences and generating buzz long after the credits roll.”
The newly announced Special Presentations are:
- Alpha Gang — Directed by David Zellner and Nathan Zellner (USA) — International Premiere
- Glaxo — Directed by Benjamín Naishtat (Argentina/Brazil) — World Premiere
- Love of Your Life — Directed by Rachel Morrison (USA) — World Premiere
- The Housewife — Directed by Ben Shirinian (USA) — World Premiere
- Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother — Directed by Bassam Tariq (USA) — World Premiere
These titles join the growing TIFF 2026 programme as anticipation builds for the festival’s 51st edition, which runs from September 10th – 20th, 2026. With more Gala and Special Presentation announcements still to come, this year’s line-up is continuing to shape into one of the festival’s strongest in recent memory.
