The latest trailer for It is looking terrifyingly good

Before you try to avert your eyes, just know that the new It trailer is less about Pennywise the Clown and more about ‘The Losers’ (the band of kids that the story follows). But he is still totally in there and as scary as he was the first time around.

Still with us? For anyone who has read Stephen King’s novel, you’ll know just how important the theme of friendship and adolescence is in It, perhaps even trumping the psychotic kid murdering clown. So this trailer was a given. You’ll also note how authentic the kids are: Richie’s class clown antics and voices, Eddie’s neurosis regarding health and Bill’s leadership role.

It’s been said rumoured that this version will follow the book more closely than the 1990 mini-series and so far all signs are looking good.

It is scheduled to release in Australia on September 7.
