Star Trek: Discovery releases a gobsmacking, interstellar new trailer direct from Comic-Con

The new CBS/Netflix series Star Trek Discovery has dropped a new trailer, straight from the good old shores of San Diego Comic-Con.

In this exciting, but morbidly dark preview we hear from Officer Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green, TV’s The Walking Dead) quoting the words:

“The world doesn’t always adhere to logic, sometimes down is up and sometimes when your lost, your found!”

Some amazing new scenes are played out for the first time, including a shot of the U.S.S. Europa exploding into tiny space morsels. Not a great start for the ship, but I am sure it will be a necessary one to get the ball rolling and for the U.S.S. Starship Discovery to take its place.

A very new looking Klingon Empire is seen starting a war with the Federation, or ending it. Along for the ride are what look to be Romulan warbirds and a reveal of Rainn Wilson’s role as Harry Mudd, making myself and I’m sure, many other fans instantly sit up and take notice!

So, it seems something mysterious is found lurking at the edge of Federation space, Starfleet will never be the same again and in more ways than one, if the visual fidelity of the series was supposed to meet up with the one of old.

We shall all find out and explore it together when an all new era of Star Trek begins weekly on Netflix Australia starting 25th September 2017.
