Stan become first streaming service to be nominated for a Logie with No Activity

It was announced at the 58th TV Week Logie Award nominations that Australian streaming service Stan has secured three nominations for its original series No Activity.

This is the first time ever that an streaming or video-on-demand (VOD) service has been selected for Australia’s top television awards.

No Activity was nominated for Most Outstanding Comedy Series and Most Outstanding Supporting Actor for both Tim Minchin and Dan Wyllie.

Continuing their investment in the local production, Stan has already commissioned a second series of No activity.

Stan CEO, Mike Sneesby, said: “Stan has set out to be a pioneer of Australia’s evolving television landscape and these nominations are yet another landmark moment for Australian TV.

“We are incredibly proud to receive three Logie nominations for No Activity and congratulate the team at Jungle, the cast and crew, especially Tim Minchin, Dan Wyllie and creators Patrick Brammall and Trent O’Donnell.

Jason Burrows, No Activity Executive Producer, added: “It’s a total disgrace to nominate a show about a bunch of people sitting around doing nothing. Definitely rigged!

“A big congratulations to the incredible team and a huge thank you to Stan for providing an avenue for brave, world-class content. What Stan is doing is really exciting for the future of Australia’s production industry.”

The winners will be announced at the 58th TV Week Logie Awards on May 8.
