Mark Millar’s comic book Empress to be made into film adaptation

Exciting news for comic book fans. Most notably known for Kick-Ass and Kingsman, author  Mark Millar has partnered up with producers Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum to work on the latest film adaptation of Empress.

Stuart Immonen was the co-creator of the comic which told the story on a wife of a Ming, the Merciless-style galactic dictator, making the decision of leaving her evil husband and taking her three children with her. From the help of a bodyguard, she manages to escape with her children to her home world. But with a dictator husband and strong armies under his wing, he isn’t about to let go without a fight.

Known for his work in xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, F. Scott Frazier has been tapped into writing the script for Empress. Currently Millar is working on various projects including Supercrooks, American Jesus, Huck, Chrononauts and Starlight.
