Joel Edgerton directed film Boy Erased gets Iits first official trailer; boasts massive Aussie cast

Famous Australian actor Joel Edgerton (Warrior), takes his talents to the directing chair, as the first trailer for his film Boy Erased is released. Edgerton will also write, produce and co-star.

The film will focus on the trails and tribulations of homosexuality, as Jared, the son of a Baptist pastor in a small American town, comes to terms with his son’s choice, as Jared is forced to attend a conversion therapy program that only marks the beginning of a long and difficult journey of sexuality, identity and acceptance. You can check it out for yourself in the trailer below:

Boy Erased will feature an all-star cast from the likes of Academy Award-winning Australian actors Nicole Kidman (Big Little Lies) and Russell Crowe (Gladiator), alongside musician Troye Sivan, who played ‘Young Wolverine’ in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, who has also composed music specifically for the film. Red Hot Chilli Pepper’s star Flea also co-stars, and as a fun fact, happens to be a quarter Australian.

With no official Australian release date, a U.S. theatrical release in November 2018 hints that an Australian release may not stray too far from this window.
