Illumination’s new animated film Sing celebrates its premiere in Toronto

Singthe latest film from Illumination Studios (Despicable Me, The Secret Life of Pets) had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sunday, ahead of its Boxing Day release.

The animated film sees Buster, a koala, holding a singing competition in his home town in order to save his theatre.

Sing stars Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson, Seth MacFarlane, Jennifer Hudson, Tori Kelly, Taron Egerton and John C. Reilly, most of which showed up at the premiere.

Following the screening, audiences were treated to special live performances from Kelly, and Hudson who performed a duet of Jeff Buckley’s “Hallelujah”, with Kelly also performing Stevie Wonder’s  “Don’t Worry About a Thing”.

Sing will be released in Austalian Cinemas on December 26th
