Golden Age Cinema celebrates Mothers Day and Teen movies

unnamed (1)

The Golden Age Cinema is prepped and ready to celebrate Mothers Day with a range of chic classics. The best part is that all proceeds from popcorn sales will go to the B Miles Women’s Foundation, which supports Sydney women with mental illnesses who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness.

The day kicks off with the Audrey Hepburn classic, Breakfast at Tiffany’s followed by Advanced Style which captures the creative senior fashionistas of New Yorker Ari Seth Cohen’s blog. And finally, Frédéric Tcheng’s documentary Dior & I follows the newly appointed Creative Director of Dior, Raf Simons who must create an entire couture collection in a mere eight weeks.

Golden Age will also be screening a couple of exclusives in honor of those charming teen flicks of yesteryear. First up is the UK documentary and festival hit Beyond Clueless, investigating the tropes of the ‘teen movie’ through over 200 coming-of-age classics. Featuring narration by Fairuza Balk, it will play along side a Friday Fright screening of cult ’90s flick The Craft and Clueless.

The second exclusive is the debut film from director Michelle Joy LloydSunday shot on location in Melbourne and Christchurch. Described as New Zealand’s very own Before SunriseSunday charts the ups and downs of a relationship in Christchurch after the 2011 earthquake.
