BlizzCon has announced the team that will represent Australia in the 2016 Overwatch World Cup

BlizzCon has announced Australia’s team of six Overwatch representatives that have been chosen to battle it out on the Overwatch World Cup stage. After taking part in qualifiers over the past month, Australia’s team will be joining over fifty countries and regions who will be competing in the Overwatch World Cup.

Overwatch is a team-based first person shooter which has received a huge amount of positive response from players since its release in May. In two teams of six players select a character in order to secure and defend control points on a map, and escort a payload across the map within a set time limit.

The Australian ANZ Overwatch team consists of Team Captain, Elliott ‘Muselk’ Watkins, alongside teammates ‘Refz’, ‘Termo’, ‘Kura’, ‘Yuki’ and ‘HeyKatie’.

The qualifying teams received a free trip to BlizzCon plus an appearance bonus.

The BlizzCon Overwatch World Cup will be held from 6am AEDT from October until November 1, and will be streamed online from the BlizzCon website.
