ABC announces comprehensive cover of G20: Brisbane over the next three days.

This week the world’s eyes are on Australia, as Brisbane hosts the G20.

The event is bringing together an unprecedented assembly of world leaders on Australian soil including US President Barack Obama, British Prime Minister David Cameron, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and many others.

ABC and ABC News 24 have already been covering the build up and preparations for the world’s most important annual economic event, but tomorrow they’ll kick off their full line of planned coverage, culminating in the G20 Leader’s Summit on November 15 and 16. ABC highlights over the next 72 hours will include:

Friday, November 14

Michael Rowland will co-host ABC News Breakfast LIVE from the Brisbane Convention Centre 6:00-9:00am (AEDT).

Tony Eastley LIVE from the Brisbane Convention Centre on ABC News 24 across the afternoon and eve of the G20 Leader’s Summit.

Leigh Sales hosts a 1 hour G20 ABC 7pm News special in NSW, ACT, TAS, SA & NT (viewers across Australia can see this program LIVE on ABC News 24 from 7:00pm AEDT).

For Queensland viewers, Karina Carvalho will host a special one hour local edition of ABC 7pm News.

In Western Australia, James McHale will anchor a one hour special edition of ABC 7pm News with LIVE crosses to Brisbane as leaders begin to arrive for the G20 Leader’s Summit.

As the election campaign continues in Victoria, Ian Henderson and Josie Taylor present ABC 7pm News and 7.30 Victoria, offering locals the latest on both the G20 and Victoria Votes – two of the year’s biggest events.

Normal programming will be set aside on 612 ABC Brisbane as it broadcasts LIVE from the G20 from Friday, November 14 to Sunday November 16, giving locals the latest information including news on the hour, regular traffic, flight and public transport updates and more.
