The Walking Dead now has a permanent residency at Universal Studios Hollywood

Universal Studies Hollywood has announced the opening of a permanent walk-through attraction based on The Walking Dead. The previously seasonal, limited-time attraction based on the popular US television show will now be enhanced and open to guests all 365 days of the year. The show that will be replicated in the attraction depicts the story of survivors of a post-apocalyptic world overrun by hordes of terrifying flesh-eating walkers. It has been the most highly-rated show in the US cable television history.

The new The Walking Dead attraction aims to “inspire the emotional connection of fans” through more authentic walker make-up effects, sophisticated “animatronic walkers”, substantially more detailed set design and costuming, and highly recognisable props from the series. This is to be attributed to a new partnership with “The Walking Dead’s” creative team who are responsible for creating the show’s realistic decaying walkers using prosthetics, original moulds and paint to create a realistic environment and bring The Walking Dead closer to the real lives of the theme park’s guests.

This horror-survival attraction will be located within a completely new, custom-built structure within an expansive building complex just inside the park’s main entry. It is expected to open this summer in the US. Due to the intense nature of this experience, that attraction is not recommended for guests under the age of 13.
