The gelato gods at Messina have partnered with Australian Mangoes for their new, summer-appropriate flavour. In a bid to support Aussie farmers and help them bounce back from everything they’ve been through this year, the new Mangoes & Cream flavour will be a semi permanent addition to the regular list of feverishly popular gelato combos at all Messina stores across the country.
Mangoes & Cream uses delicious Kensington Pride mangoes in the gelato, which are then layered with whipped cream churned fresh in the each store. Messina predicts that over 100kg of KP mangoes will be used for the new gelato flavour each week, throwing a considerable rope to the farmers from which they are sourced.
“We’re obsessed with using the very best produce we can get our hands on, and already use the freshest Kensington Pride’s from Far North Queensland for our existing sorbets, so we’re more than happy to add another flavour to our cabinets using the delicious fruit,” said Donato Toce, Messina Head Chef and Co-Owner. “We’ve been using Australian KP mangoes from the very start, as taste wise, for us they just can’t be beaten”.
The flavour will be part of Messina’s menu during this summer only.
