Eli Roth returns to his trademark brand of splatter-soaked horror with the first teaser for Ice Cream Man, and if this early glimpse is anything to go by, summer is about to turn very, very sour.
Set in an otherwise picturesque seasonal town where sun-drenched streets and nostalgic laughter mask something far more sinister, the teaser wastes no time establishing its unsettling premise. Children line up for what looks like an innocent treat from a cheerful ice cream vendor – only for those sugary scoops to trigger something deeply wrong. What follows is a rapid descent into chaos as innocence curdles into violence, and the town’s idyllic veneer begins to melt away.
True to form, Roth leans into his fascination with bodily horror and moral collapse. The teaser offers flashes rather than full reveals: sticky drips of ice cream juxtaposed with blood, wide-eyed children transforming into unrecognisable predators, and adults unwillingly on the other end of deathly sweet punishment.
If this is just the teaser, Ice Cream Man already promises a full-scale nightmare served cold – and with an extra scoop of carnage – when it arrives in Australian theatres on August 6th, 2026.
