Keg & Brew announce special tap takeover to celebrate second anniversary (Sydney)

Surry Hills’ craft beer mainstay Keg & Brew – sister pub to Dove & Olive and The DOG – is turning two towards the end of this month, and to celebrate in their typical beer-loving style they’ll be welcoming a tap takeover all the way from Victoria. All 33 of the venue’s taps will be handed over to Bridge Road Brewers, who will bring up some of their finest brews to help the team celebrate, even planning a special collaboration brew that will be exclusively available on Thursday 25th August.

Those heading along on the day can expect everything from Biere De Garde Belgian/French inspired Farmhouse Ale, Saison, Hefeweizen, porters, pilsners, IPAs, and even a Scrumpy Cider. All of these will be available on tap along with the exclusive Terrible Twos Black & Tan, which is a combo of a hefeweizen and a porter, a Bavarian style wheat beer meets robust vanilla porter mixed to create a delicious dunkel Weizen. It will be on offer for $9.50 per schooner and both beers will also be available separately.

Some food specials will also be popping up on the day to match the exclusive beers too. The black, robust porter will need some Oyster Rockerfeller and Baked Oyster with green herbs, anise, butter, and breadcrumb. Meanwhile, the hefweizen will call for a Grilled Butterflied King Prawn served with burnt butter hollandaise.

Other specials throughout the day will include Little Bling Session IPA for $5 a schooner/$10 a jug, $4 schooners of Golden Ale during Happy Hour (5-7pm) and $6.50 schooners of Pale Ale.

Bridge Road brewer, Scott Turnball, and director of Hops & More, Brad Flowers, will be on site from 5pm to talk through their favourite pours and there will be free samples from 6-7pm for those who can’t quite decide which beer to try first.
