Track of the Day: Pink Matter “You’ll Never Know” (2020)

Pink Matter

Brisbane trip Pink Matter released their new single “You’ll Never Know” on Friday. Co-produced with friend and close collaborator Harvey Sutherland, the single is a delightfully empowering slice of disco and soul. It also happens to be the groups’ first release for the year, and marks their signing to global tastemaker label Daily Nightly.

“You’ll Never Know”  is an emboldening story of inner confidence. With the band saying the song; “takes the perspective of a girl talking to her friend, telling her that, although she exudes beauty, she doesn’t truly see it within herself”. They go on to note that this a common incidence amongst their friends and other, and that they hope “this song will help them (and anyone else feeling that way) to truly see how much everyone adores them!”

“You’ll Never Know” is a vibe. Shimmering and slinky, there’s so much to love here – from the vocals to the tight instrumental work. Everything is ticking along nicely, hitting a nice groove, and then at about the two and a half minute mark it all kicks off. Surely it’s impossible not to listen without a smile on your face.

“You’ll Never Know” is out now. Stream and download it HERE. Meanwhile, you can find Pink Matter on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Pink Matter also have a handful of gigs coming up (pandemic restrictions dependent of course)
