Day 3 of BIGSOUND 2022 continued to deliver. A highlight of the conference was the keynote speech from Jaguar Jonze. To say it was moving is a gross understatement. She told the story of her youth, a series of struggles as the Australian court system refused residency to her Taiwanese mother. It’s not possible to give her journey justice in a paragraph or two, and she told her story during a monologue that later forty minutes or so. The packed hall was left in awe and silence at the conclusion.

Meetings were held, old relationships rekindled in the afternoon, interviews undertaken across the Valley, and faces put to names at long last.

Delegate holders were treated to a stellar lineup at the UNIFIED Music Group and Lonely Lands Agency BIGSOUND showcase. With Little Green, The Terrys, Unearthed High champions The Rions, punk-rockers Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers (their only BIGSOUND performance) and Budjerah, it was a great start to the evening.

Again, we were spoilt for choice across the valley, but choices had to be made. Bruce brings you these photos of some of the highlights from the evening, including Chloe Dadd, Andrew Gurruwiwi Band, Germein, Adam Newling, OK Hotel, Girl and Girl, Andrew Swift, Beckah Amani and Tasman Keith.
