Midas.Gold signs with 123 Agency; releases “Poppin” to cap off a stellar 2017

2017 has been very, very kind to Midas.Gold. From generating heat around his music on his own through the year’s early months, to bounding from stage to stage at BIGSOUND this September, the east coast rapper may be about the turn up onstage but there’s no mistaking that Midas.Gold is a young artist with drive and clear ambition in spades.

Perhaps it’s this ethic that, along with his tunes, turned the heads of the 123 Agency, the Melbourne-based company that Midas.Gold now calls home. Says agent Harry Moore, “I saw Midas up at BIGSOUND and instantly was impressed by his stage presence. …Looking forward to seeing what the future will hold together!”

The dynamism and versatility of Midas.Gold extends beyond his affable stage presence and interactions with his ever growing audience. Displaying the chops needed to tackle different sorts of stages with a ferocious confidence, Midas has already been seen dominating on the east coast, supporting artists ranging in style from Ivan Ooze to Ecca Vandal.

In his new single, “Poppin”, Midas.Gold has once again come through with a catchy anthem for any weekend and hell, the summer ahead. Produced by his long time collaborator James Angus, “Poppin” keeps the tempo up and is representative of Midas’ vibrancy as a young artist continuing to curve the way Australian hip hop is changing in this time of flux for the genre.

Watching Midas.Gold on the come up as he has been through this year has been an ascent we’ve been stoked to witness, and with the shows already locking themselves down for the New Year, we’ve got no doubt we’ll be seeing more and more of this young gun as 2018 takes off.
