Exclusive Single Premiere: Alana Jagt “Somehow, Sometime” (2017)

Adelaide songwriter Alana Jagt is gearing up for the release of her much anticipated debut studio EP Wilderness and in continuing to build the excitement, this South Australian fave is giving us a sneak peek with her new single, “Somehow, Sometime”.

Her vocals are gorgeous, layered with a delicate raspiness that makes her sound feel pulled from another time. The guitar work, particularly in the solos, mark a distinct departure in sound for Jagt – this is the same writer, just in a different creative space from that of “Lullaby #2”. Emerging for a collaboration with fellow SA songwriter Max Savage that ultimately didn’t come to fruition, Jagt kept “Somehow, Sometime” and fleshed it out into the rich final result we have below.

“I love what the band did with the song in the studio and how it eventually came out,” Jagt says. “I’m just really proud of this one.”

Wilderness will be launched at Adelaide’s Grace Emily Hotel on October 14th, pre-order the EP via Jagt’s Bandcamp: https://alanajagt.bandcamp.com.
