Exclusive Music Video Premiere: Maefire “Without You” (2016)

Melbourne’s Maefire emerged in 2015 with their debut EP, wasting no time in generating a solid reputation for themselves on the east coast as a band to watch. Of course, experience on stage prior to their outing as Maefire helped, with the group coming together out of the ashes of For Our Hero and Madison in 2014. With a sound that evokes a little Gaslight Anthem here, a little Getaway Plan there, it’s no wonder Maefire quickly generated a buzz amongst the crowds who were rocking up to see them play.

Their new single “Without You”, premiering with the AU today, sees Maefire stride out and into a more groove-based, indie spotlight; as the band’s first release from their next record Crystal Eyes (due out in September), the song is a strong offering from the four piece.

Featuring cinematography from Timothy Nagle and starring Felix Mallard and Geordie Gray, the music video utilises a seductive nighttime Melbourne backdrop as our couple of the moment manoeuvres their way throughout.
