Horizon Zero Dawn is coming to PC

In January, we brought you a report that Guerilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn was headed to PC. That report has now been confirmed in a PlayStation Blog Q&A with Herman Hulst, the head of PlayStation Worldwide Studios.

“Yes, I can confirm that Horizon Zero Dawn is coming to PC this summer,” says Hulst in the interview. “There will be more information coming from Guerrilla, from the new studio directors (Michiel van der Leeuw, JB van Beek, and Angie Smets) pretty soon.”

Asked about what Horizon‘s move could mean for other PlayStation exclusives, Hulst was quick to temper expectations.

“I think it’s important that we stay open to new ideas of how to introduce more people to PlayStation, and show people maybe what they’ve been missing out on.

“And to maybe put a few minds at ease, releasing one first-party AAA title to PC doesn’t necessarily mean that every game now will come to PC. In my mind, Horizon Zero Dawn was just a great fit in this particular instance. We don’t have plans for day and date (PC releases), and we remain 100% committed to dedicated hardware.”

For now, it seems PlayStation is happy to leave day-and-date PC launches to the competition. The Xbox Game Pass program drops Xbox exclusives across console and PC on launch day, and has been a great success for Microsoft.

Horizon Zero Dawn will arrive on PC in Q2-Q3 this year.
