Break out the black eyeliner – Story Of The Year and Silverstein bring Camp Screamo to Australia in 2027

Story Of The Year and Silverstein announce Camp Screamo Australian tour 2027

If you spent the early 2000s as a disenfranchised youth, screaming along to the bands that helped earn the genre its “screamo” title, it’s time to warm up those vocal cords. Story Of The Year and Silverstein are bringing their Camp Screamo co-headline tour to Australia in February 2027, with US rockers Point North joining the lineup.

Hot off selling out their North American run, the two post-hardcore favourites will hit Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Fremantle and Brisbane for five shows celebrating the music that helped shape a generation, alongside the newer material keeping both bands moving forward.

For Story Of The Year, the Australian leg follows their 2024 visit for the 20th anniversary of their debut album, Page Avenue. Released in 2003, the record helped define the post-hardcore sound of the era, with tracks like “Until the Day I Die”, “Anthem of Our Dying Day” and “And the Hero Will Drown” still packing a punch live.

But Story Of The Year aren’t simply revisiting their past. Their latest album, A.R.S.O.N., arrived earlier this year, showing the Missouri band still have plenty to say more than two decades into their career. Expect a set that draws on their enduring catalogue while making room for what’s next.

Their Canadian tourmates Silverstein have taken a similarly long-running journey. Celebrating 25 years together in 2025, the band continue to evolve while holding onto the sound that first won them a devoted following. Their 2005 album, Discovering the Waterfront, remains a landmark release, with “Smile in Your Sleep” and “My Heroine” among the tracks that helped cement their reputation. Shane Told spoke to the AU review in 2025, ahead of their last Australian tour.

Silverstein were last in Australia in 2025 for their anniversary celebrations, but Camp Screamo promises something different, with the band bringing their full production and teaming up with their “old friends” Story Of The Year and Point North. After more than 20 years of touring Australia, they know there’s an audience ready for this one.

Completing the bill, Point North bring a contemporary alternative-rock edge, blending pop punk with electronic influences and heavier sounds. The Los Angeles band made their Australian debut in 2025 supporting Ocean Sleeper, adding another dimension to a lineup that connects different generations of the scene.

Camp Screamo might be built around two bands with deep roots in the 2000s, but this isn’t just a trip down memory lane. With new music in the mix and three bands bringing their own take on alternative rock, February is shaping up to be a loud start to 2027.
