Live Review: The Doctor's Great Big F***ing Off Party - The Giant Dwarf, Sydney (11.12.14)

He’s spent about 6,100 hours on air, conducted roughly 3,520 interviews, achieved a Christmas Number 1 and had himself tattooed in the studio. After all of that, Lindsay ‘The Doctor’ McDougall is f***ing off. ABC luminaries and industry folk crammed into The Giant Dwarf theatre on a stormy afternoon to witness his second last ever show, his Great Big F***ing Off Party.

Triple J's send off for radio presenter, Lindsay 'The Doctor' McDougall was nothing short of epic. Album Review: triple j House Party Vol 2 - Mixed by Nina Las Vegas (2013 Compilation)

It can’t be denied that Sydney-based DJ Nina Las Vegas has a stellar taste in music. Each Saturday night she broadcasts a three-hour show called “House Party” on triple j, filled with the latest and greatest tunes all seamlessly mixed to perfection. Last year, she released a two disc “House Party” compilation that combined new and old, electro and hip-hop, all into a ridiculously danceable two mixes clocking at just over two hours altogether. triple j House Party Vol 2 is the follow up to the wildly successful first compilation – and it’s another two discs of pure party.

Azealia Banks, with her locks reaching all the way to her slender legs and her pretty face supported by a petite frame, she is, in a word, shocking. As she shakes her way around the world from Harlem all the way to Melbourne, she blows away fans and haters alike with her rude ‘tude, and boy, she does not hide it. But damn. She can pull it off. Making her way around Australia playing Future Music Festival, the fiery 21-year-old rapper from New York City hit up the Palace Theatre on Thursday night.
