
For the first time ever, Cirque du Soleil is partnering with for a museum for a limited-time exhibit, honouring more than three decades of history in Las Vegas. That museum is one which has celebrated the brightest history of Vegas – its neon signs – for almost thirty years themselves: The Neon Museum.
The exhibition will be entitled Stories from Backstage: Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas, and it will be presented by The Neon Museum inside City Hall’s Grand Gallery. It’s set to unveil the creative process behind some of the most iconic Cirque performances, from the costumes and headpieces to the breathtaking makeup designs.

This will include:
- The iconic “Red Bird” costume from Mystère
- The “Moonhead” headpiece from “O”
- Acrobatic shoes used in the “Wheel of Death” act from Mad Apple
- Makeup designs for Michael Jackson ONE
From February 10th until May 1st of this year, Stories From Backstage will offer the public a chance to glimpse into the behind-the-scenes of Cirque’s entertainment. You’ll see the work and vision of the show’s creative minds; their dedication to bringing Cirque shows to the stage.
“This landmark exhibition — the first of its kind — marks a significant milestone for The Neon Museum, reflecting our expanded mission to illuminate the cultural essence of Las Vegas by preserving and sharing the iconic signs, stories and creative spirit that define our city’s past, present and future,” said Aaron Berger, executive director of The Neon Museum.
“Cirque du Soleil is synonymous with Las Vegas. After viewing this exhibition, guests will gain a completely new perspective of the artists and artistry through performers’ stories, up-close views of the costumes and makeup that dazzle from afar — revealing the magic that makes Cirque in Las Vegas the destination entertainment experience it has been for over 30 years.”
This exhibition will also sit as part of Duck Duck Shed, running from 24th to 27th April. Presented by The Neon Museum, the four day event serves as an “exploration into Las Vegas’ architecture, design and culture.”

Stories from Backstage: Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas will be running from February 10th until May 1st inside City Hall’s Grand Gallery (495 S. Main St, Las Vegas).
