With Christmas behind us, what is there to watch on the TV as the Holidays continue towards New Years? Kimberley Veart has your TV picks for the next three days:

Monday December 29th

Jaws, Ch. 7, 9:30pm AEST

Scare yourself out of ever swimming in the ocean again by watching Jaws. Though the special effects might not be as convincing as they were in 1975, this Steven Spielberg thriller is still worth viewing.

Who Do You Think You Are?, Gem, 8:30pm AEST

Learn alongside Zooey Deschanel about her family history in one of the most fascinating episodes of the US version of the acclaimed series. It explores her Quaker and anti-slavery roots.

Tuesday December 30th

American Teen, ABC 2, 8.34pm AEST

The critically acclaimed documentary follows the lives of Midwestern teenagers in their senior year. Written and directed by Nanette Burnstein, American Teen offers an honest and recognisable portrayal of high school life, delving into the insecurities of its subjects.

Haywire, GO!, 9:30pm AEST

Though not entirely original, this Steven Soderbergh action film is clever and stylish. Basically a vehicle for the considerable talents of Gina Carano with Carano playing Mallory Kane a black ops soldier out for revenge. Haywire also features a stellar supporting cast including Channing Tatum, Michael Fassbender, Ewan McGregor and Antonio Banderas.

Wednesday New Years Eve – December 31st

New Year’s Eve, Ch. 9, 7:30pm AEST

While not the most critically acclaimed, the romantic comedy is a good fun romp and fitting for a New Year’s Eve spent at home. The all-star cast makes the most of the superficial storylines; so spend the night with Zac Efron, Halle Berry, Sofia Vergara, Seth Meyers, Ashton Kutcher and many, many more.

New Year’s Eve: Welcome, ABC, 8:30pm AEST

From 8:30pm until midnight, the lovable Julia Zemiro and Toby Truslove present the entertainment celebrations and fireworks to ring in the New Year. The Sydney fireworks will be shown at 8:55pm for families and the feature show at 11:55pm for the final countdown.
