State-of-the-art cinema complex set for Boxing Day debut in Brisbane

And you thought the art of cinema was dead?

Reading Cinemas Australia have announced it will open Australia’s most advanced cinema complex to date at the newly redeveloped DFO complex in Jindalee, Brisbane, just in time for Boxing Day.

Reading’s new complex will be the company’s first in Queensland to feature full reclining seats in all auditoriums. A brand new Premium offering with enhanced food and beverage will showcase Reading Cinemas Jindalee as the Gold standard in Australian cinema. In addition, Brisbane’s second TITAN LUXE auditorium with Dolby Atmos will be launched, along with the latest in 4K Digital Projection equipment – providing an unparalleled theatrical experience for customers.

“We look forwarding to bringing the very best movie going experience to such a vibrant and rapidly expanding area of Brisbane,” said Mark Douglas, Reading Cinemas Australia’s Managing Director.

He continued, “2020 has been a year characterised by isolation and we are proud to be opening a new cinema during such a challenging and disruptive time. Going to the movies and watching the latest films on the Big Screen brings family and friends together to enjoy shared experiences, which is part of the cultural fabric of the cinema industry. As experienced cinema operators we believe in the future of the industry and Reading Cinemas Jindalee offers the latest state-of-the-art technology and comfort, whilst providing truly great value for money, as is the reputation of the Reading Cinemas brand”.

Ellen Cotter, Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Reading International, commented “We are thrilled to be expanding our footprint in Brisbane and can’t wait to bring Reading Cinemas to the people of South-West Brisbane. The opening of our 5thQueensland location shows the commitment and confidence that Reading has in the movie going experience.”

Wonder Woman 1984 leads a Blockbuster Boxing Day film line up that also includes The Croods: A New Age, The Witches (having opened in other locations on December 10th) and Superintelligence (primed for a December 17th release). Tickets for Wonder Woman 1984 will be available for pre-purchase on Monday 14 December via Reading’s official website.
