Sony to rescue Community from cancellation on Yahoo Screen

Community fans rejoice! After hearing the devastating news in May that NBC were cancelling the brilliant and clever Community, things did not look promising. Even though the show was being shopped around various studios in the hope of finding it a new home, it was never certain that we would ever get another season of the show. But thank the TV gods that Sony Pictures Television has agreed to produce another season of the show to distribute online on Yahoo Screen. Showrunner and creator Dan Harmon will return, as will the entire cast including Joel McHale, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Dani Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Ken Jeong and (thank god) Jim Rash.

Community was never really a ratings smash for NBC, but the show has developed a strong and loyal cult fanbase. After Harmon was fired at the end of season three, the show took a dip in quality for the fourth season. After Harmon was reinstated for season five, the show started to get back to its former glory. It would have been such a shame to say goodbye to Community after only five seasons, so the news that a sixth season is happening is excellent. Now we just need that movie hey?

Community Season 6 does not currently have an exact air date, but we will keep you posted!
