Second trailer for The Purge: Election Year drops

The follow-up trailer for the third Purge movie, Election Year has dropped and it looks grim.

Director James De Monaco (who has helmed all three films) returns with newbies Elizabeth Mitchell (Revolution) Frank Grillo (Captain America: Winter Soldier & Civil War).

When Senator Charlene Roan (Mitchell) vows to eliminate the annual “Purge” – a night where all crime is legal for 12 hours – her head of security, Sargent Barnes (Grillo) must protect her, as criminals look to use the Purge to assassinate her.

The Purge: Election Year looks dark, sinister and completely nuts. I have a feeling we may see a bit of social commentary thrown in the mix too.

Check out the trailer below.

The Purge: Election Year will release in cinemas on July 14.
