Scott Cam takes the gold at the 2014 TV WEEK Logie Awards

Last night was Australian television’s night of nights as the stars hit the red carpet at the 56th TV WEEK Logie Awards to celebrate what has been a great year for Aussie television. The big winner of the night was Scott Cam, who won the Gold Logie for Most Popular TV Personality and a Silver Logie for Most Popular Presenter for his work on Nine’s The Block. To win the Gold Logie, Cam beat out strong competition from Asher Keddie (Offspring), Andy Lee (Hamish & Andy’s Gap Year), Carrie Bickmore (The Project), Essie Davis (Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries), and Steve Peacocke (Home and Away). Expected winner Keddie didn’t go home empty-handed though, taking home two Silver Logies for Most Popular Actress and Most Outstanding Actress. Comedian Chris Lilley took home Most Popular Actor for his hilarious performance in Ja’mie: Private School Girl. It’s great to see Lilley get some much-deserved recognition for his incredibly clever and dedicated performance. Rounding out the top acting awards, Lachy Hulme was awarded Most Outstanding Actor for his portrayal of Frank Packer in Power Games: The Packer-Murdoch Story. Overall, the ceremony was an enjoyable night and a great chance to honour the people working at the top of their game in Australian television.
