PAX Australia has officially revealed a new event at Melbourne’s Federation Square. Occurring on Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd of September, the event will bring a taste of PAX Aus to Federation Square in anticipation of the upcoming PAX Aus 2016 convention.
Attendees will be able to participate in high-score tournaments on the big screen, giant Jenga and Connect Four battles, tabletop board games, and to cap the night off, a Friday concert from local Melbourne video game bands.
This wouldn’t be a video gaming event without video games, however. Also available will be dedicated gaming areas, competitions to enter and multiple prizes available including coveted PAX Aus 3-Day badges and loads of gaming items. Attendees will also be able to participate in a huge Pokemon Go walk.
As part of the Melbourne International Games Week, local street artists will be onsite creating a mural, which will feature characters from video games created by local studios. The event will also show Melbourne’s finest locally developed, Independent videos games, all of which are available to play at the event.
If you are interested in the event, you will need to RSVP to the PAX @ Federation Square event on Facebook. PAX Aus day and three-day badges are still available and can be purchased through the PAX Aus website.
