MIFF partners up with Powershop for a new short film competition with a $3,000 prize

Powershop and the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) are inviting filmmakers, and anyone in the filmmaking spirit, to create a short film for the inaugural Powershorts Film Comp in Australia.

To enter, contestants must shoot a film using only their smartphones, keep it anywhere between 10 sec and 3 mins and it must include the colour pink honouring Powershop’s bright motif. The film itself can be whatever you choose, be it loud, subtle, saturated or abstract.

If your film is selected as a finalist, it will be open to public voting. On 26 July 2017, the winner will be announced and awarded $3,000 in Visa gift cards and entry for 2 to the MIFF closing gala. The winning film will also be shown at an exclusive MIFF 2017 preview screening.
