Warner Bros. Pictures is bringing a little Hollywood magic home, announcing that two of Australia’s most celebrated talents, Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, will return to Sydney to launch Emerald Fennell’s “Wuthering Heights” in spectacular fashion.
The film will open with a special Opening Night Celebration at the State Theatre on Thursday, February 12th, marking the final stop on a glamorous world tour that will take the cast and film through Los Angeles, Paris, London and beyond. There’s something fitting about the journey ending in Sydney, with two Australian stars at the centre of one of the year’s most talked-about releases.
Written, directed and produced by Academy Award and BAFTA winner Emerald Fennell, “Wuthering Heights” reimagines Emily Brontë’s timeless novel through a bold, contemporary lens. At its heart is the fierce and forbidden connection between Cathy (Robbie) and Heathcliff (Elordi) – a love story driven by obsession, desire and emotional ruin, told on an epic cinematic scale.
Robbie not only leads the film on screen but also produces under her LuckyChap banner, continuing her long-standing creative partnership with Fennell. She will be joined in Sydney by Elordi and LuckyChap producer Josey McNamara, whose work has earned both Oscar and BAFTA recognition.
“Wuthering Heights” opens in Australian cinemas on February 12th, just in time for Valentine’s Day, offering audiences a darkly romantic, unforgettable big-screen experience – and an opening night that promises to be just as dramatic as the story itself.
