Did Daniel Craig make a cameo in The Force Awakens as an uncredited Stormtrooper?

Earlier this year, Simon Pegg – who makes a cameo himself as Unkar Plutt – let it slip that James Bond, Daniel Craig, managed to work his way into the new Star Wars film The Force Awakens while filming Spectre – the latest Bond film – nearby.

Craig outright denied the claim in later interviews – possibly to appease contract obligations, but probably because he genuinely didn’t want to spoil it – then, or ever. Without any credit, it’s possible he may have taken it to his grave. But according to Chris Lee of Entertainment Weeklyto whom Craig “lied” earlier this year – “multiple sources close to The Force Awakens” confirmed that he did in fact shoot a scene in the film, playing a Stormtrooper.

So, if he’s dressed as a Stormtrooper, is it possible to spot him in action? Well – and here come the spoilers – it is… because, if the story is to be believed, he actually has a speaking role.

It’s in the scene where Rey (Daisy Ridley) attempts to use the force to escape the Starkiller base, telling a Stormtrooper to remove her shackles, to which he replies – “I’ll tighten those restraints, scavenger scum”. And that, apparently, is Mr. Bond in action.

Daniel Craig, nor JJ Abrams, have yet to confirm publicly that this indeed took place, but if it is true (and no one has come out to say it’s not at this stage), then that’s pretty damn cool.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is in cinemas now.
