Canadian singer-songwriter Patrick Watson will return to Australia for the first time in more than a decade, with three east coast shows announced for later this month.
The Montreal-based musician will bring his latest album, UH OH, to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, performing at Metro Theatre on 26 November, Northcote Theatre on 28 November and The Princess Theatre on 29 November.
Released in 2025, UH OH marked a significant chapter in Watson’s career after a 2023 vocal cord injury left him unable to sing for several months.
The album became a collaborative project, featuring guest vocalists including Martha Wainwright, Charlotte Oleena, MARO and Charlotte Cardin.
UH OH earned Watson a nomination for Adult Alternative Album of the Year at the 2026 Juno Awards (Canada’s answer to the ARIAs), while his collaboration with Wainwright, ‘House On Fire’, was named among the 20 nominees for the 2026 SOCAN Polaris Song Prize.
Watson won the Polaris Music Prize in 2007 for his album Close To Paradise. His 2010 track ‘Je te laisserai des mots’ also became the first French-language song to surpass one billion streams on Spotify, after enjoying a COVID era resurgence on TikTok.
Fellow Canadian artist La Force, the solo project of musician Ariel Engle, will join Watson as a special guest across all three Australian dates.
Engle previously collaborated with Watson on ‘Height of the Feeling’, from his 2022 album Better in the Shade.
