It’s a convoluted theory but it may very well be solid, as the folks over at Comic Book Movie.com aim to decipher who is directing the upcoming Captain Marvel movie.
It started with The Wrap reporting on some tales they heard on the grapevine including Captain Marvel’s star and director. The main breakthrough was that the two shared the same first name. Now the only semi-reliable name that has been attached to play Carol Danvers (Captain Marvel’s alias) thus far is Emily Blunt.

Now Emily Carmichael, who wrote, directed, and animated the Penny Arcade web series and has also written and directed several live-action short films posted an Instagram picture recently with the caption “On my way to a Disney meeting” before being altered.
Of course this should all be taken with a grain of salt but it’s something to chew on. We’ll update as more news comes to light.
Captain Marvel is slated for a March 8, 2019 release.
