Comic-Con: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 teaser trailer is a refreshingly spoiler-free affair

Now this is more like it! Trailers these days have an unfortunate habit of showing audiences too much of the film, resulting in a lack of suspense and anticipation when they finally see the full product. Even teaser trailers are becoming too revealing. It’s a big relief then that the teaser trailer for the hugely anticipated sequel The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 actually does what it’s name suggests; it teases the film by revealing pretty much nothing about it. Despite this fact, the trailer still manages to be riveting and should have everyone even more excited for the films November release.

The trailer premiered at San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend. While Lionsgate did not hold a panel for the film (likely holding off until the grand finale of Part 2 next year) fans at the convention were able to download the trailer first. The first two films in The Hunger Games trilogy so far have been brilliant, so let’s hope the film makers can make it three in a row! The film stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Donald Sutherland and franchise newcomer Julianne Moore, not to mention the final onscreen performance of the great Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Here’s the official synopsis for the film:

Katniss Everdeen (Lawrence) finds herself in District 13 after she destroys the Games forever. Under the leadership of President Coin (Moore) and the advice of her trusted friends, Katniss spreads her wings as she fights to save Peeta (Hutcherson) and a nation moved by her courage.
