Despite Interstellar’s stellar reviews and impressive opening week, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 did as expected and knocked it back down to earth.

The Hunger Games is a box office magnet. It is commonplace for the franchise and this week was no different as the the newest iteration pulled in over $11.8 million.

Interstellar didn’t do bad by any stretch of the imagination raking in just over$2 million in its 3rd week.
Reliable comedy Let’s Be Cops took a solid third spot while Gone Girl drops outside of the top 3 for the first time since its release.

On a more surprising note, British comedy My Old Lady has surpassed Fury as the WWII drama drops down to 6th spot, earning a mere $300,000
