Australians unite with the French to produce a new cannibal horror series

Sydney based company Cobbstar Productions and Parisian company Black Sheep Films will begin production Monday the 18th of September on their new horror series titled Patricia Moore.

Co-produced by Blackpills and supported by Screen Australia’s Multi-Platform fund,  you can watch Patricia Moore globally  on Blackpills’ new and upcoming smart phone app, available to Australian audiences early 2018.

Patricia Moore will star lead actress Danielle Cormack (Wentworth, Underbelly, Rake), and be supported by Les Hill (Underbelly, Rescue Special Op’s, Wonderland), Marlo Kelly (Home and Away), Jack Ruwald (The School), Joe Klocek (Nowhere Boys, Neighbours) and Jeanette Cronin (Janet King, Crownies). The project is written and directed by Blake Fraser and produced by Chris Thompson while Brian Cobb and Mathieu Van de Velde serve as the executive producers.

Patricia Moore revolves around the titular 16 year-old and her mother, uncle and brother who have been on the run from a cannibal cult who are responsible for the insatiable addiction the family suffers. Taking place 8 years after having escaped the cult, they travel to the Australian outback in a custom made motor home where the family can safely store their ‘fresh meat’. Trying to avoid human contact, their bus breaks down,  and as they are forced to settle temporarily in a nearby town, their hunger for flesh becomes a growing issue.

Writer/director Blake Fraser said “It’s a story about family blood. How family is a ruling factor in an individual’s life. It’s a coming of age horror that looks at the politics of a family living in a vice-like situation; a family who are wholesome on the outside but are rotten underneath by an insatiable hunger for human meat.

Producer Chris Thompson said “Developing a feature length story episodically was a really interesting process. How to convey story and build tension while placing cliffhangers was a challenge but we are really happy with the final script. The 10×10 format is exciting because it forces cliffhangers every 10 minutes making the viewer want to watch more.”

Patricia Moore will finish filming in late October and release exclusively on Blackpills’ app in March 2018.
