Romance Was Born has collaborated with Handpicked Wines on a limited edition rosé

Enormously popular Australia fashion label Romance Was Born was hooked up with the crew at Handpicked Wines for a collaborative limited edition Yarra Valley Rosé inspired by the fashion house’s latest collection “Electric Orchid”. Following a visit to the gorgeous Handpicked Cellar Door in Chippendale, designers Anna Plunkett and Luke Sales worked with Handpicked Wines to create the label for this special release, which is part of Handpicked Wines Spring Summer Collection 2018, a series that features lighter style fine wines designed for the summer months.

Featuring art by Archibald-winning artist Del Kathryn Barton, this rosé is being sold for $28.99 per 750ml bottle and contains an unusual blend of Pinot Noir juice and Marsanne skins which is used to give the wine extra body, texture and depth. It’s also available in a 3L bottle, although only 48 of those have been made available.

“Handpicked Wines shares Romance Was Born’s philosophy of quality curation, creative pairings, and at the core, a playful freedom”, offered Plunkett and Sales. “We are proud to contribute a special label we designed with dear friend Del Kathryn Barton and to leave the winemaking up to the experts”.

Handpicked’s Spring Summer Collection 2018 will feature wines from some of the country’s finest regions, including Pinot Noir from Mornington Peninsula, Chardonnay from the Yarra Valley and Grenache from the Barossa Valley. The company aims to release the Spring Summer Collection in Sydney, followed by rollout into key export markets such as Thailand, Hong Kong, China and USA.
