Parramatta to get their first five-star hotel courtesy of QT Hotels & Resorts in 2020

QT Hotels & Resorts is set to expand their Australian operations, with the announcement this week that the “quirky” luxury brand will be opening a new property in Parramatta. Their third New South Wales hotel – which is set to open in 2020 – will also hold the distinction as being the city’s first five-star hotel.

The new QT location will take up 14 levels of Coronation Property’s upcoming 8 Phillip Street mixed-used 54 storey apartment tower, which has been designed by Woods Bagot. Situated below 35 floors of apartments, the hotel will feature 205 standard deluxe rooms, 50 executive deluxe rooms and two QT suites. There will also be a signature QT bar & grill restaurant, a 200 capacity ballroom, meeting and event spaces and an “alfresco infinity pool” which you’ll find on the 18th floor.

“We are excited to be taking the quirky and unique QT brand to Parramatta and to be this thriving area’s first luxury design-driven offering. Parramatta is the ideal location with a thriving community and business district and world-class amenities,” said David Seargeant, Group Managing Director, Event Hospitality & Entertainment.

Though luxury is in the QT brand, they do it with a playful nature at all their hotels around the country – and the Parramatta location promises plenty of quirks true to their brand. Amongst the building’s unique design will be a three storey lobby, with a staircase inspired by Louis Vuitton’s Vienna outlet, and will sit independent from the residential lobby, ensuring the hotel will have all the charm you’d expect.

“QT has become one of Australia’s most exciting hotel brands that is synonymous with art, design, fashion, architecture and entertainment, and sort out by design driven travellers. Coronation Property’s high standard of design for this project aligns perfectly with our brand making this such a great partnership,” continued Seargeant.

8 Phillip Street is scheduled to open in 2020.
