New festival “The Laneway Weekender” to take over Westfield North Lakes (Brisbane)

Exciting times ahead for Westfield North Lakes with the introduction of a new event, The Laneway Weekender, which runs from Friday, 24th June until Sunday 26th June.

The family friendly affair (although, as a venue serving alcohol, minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult, parent or guardian at all times) will feature great food, live music, pop-up bars and even entertainment for children. It will be held in the new Laneway dining precinct located in the heart of Westfield North Lakes, with free entry all weekend.

As a one-weekend-only festival, the food and drink will be created just for the event, and include specialised pairings and offers from local faves Schnitz,  North Lake’s Tavern, Movenpick and San Churro.  It means there will be something for everyone; from tasty burgers to crispy Spanish churros, from hot chocolates and delicious ice cream, you won’t be at a loss to satisfy any kind of food craving.

Pop-up bars will be planted throughout the open air laneway, serving a range of craft beers, wines and cocktails.

Some of the city’s best funk, R&B and soul bands will be performing live, and there will also be free activities for children.

The full festival lineup, including food and drink deals, pop-up bars and music, will be updated via the event’s official Facebook site, at https://www.facebook.com/events/247705598940317/.

The Laneway Weekender runs from Friday, 24th June between 4pm and 8pm, and Saturday 25th June to Sunday, 26th June between 12pm and 8pm.  Follow and share via Instagram at @westfieldnorthlakes #thelaneway.
